Melia Cottage
Switch off from the hustle and bustle of busy life and relax in the beautiful nature of Wangat. Nestled in the forest, Melia is a rustic but cosy, one bedroom mudbrick cottage, which can sleep up to 5 people, in the bedroom and lounge. Lovingly made by hand with mud bricks and timbers sourced from our property, making it truly an eco-cottage. Melia is perfect for a solo retreat, couple's getaway or small family stay.
Melia features a unique tree house like design, and beautiful big windows looking into the bush from the dining area/ lounge room, as well as from the bedroom. It has a simple kitchen, an outdoor potbelly fire, bbq area, and an open deck.
It sits nestled in the rainforest at Wangat Wildlife sanctuary, with a path winding straight from the back verandah down to the river with its numerous deep swimming holes.
Explore our sub-tropical rainforest and the banks of the stunning Chichester River or venture further afield with a guided bush walk. Cool off in the Summer with a dip in one of our spectacular river swimming holes or warm up around the bonfire in the cooler months. Plus meet the wildlife - from the wallabies and cheeky possums to the abundant birds and frogs - we're all waiting to welcome you to Wangat!

Your PRIVATE SPACE: If you have hired Melia Cottage, all facilities/amenities below are private for your group only. Wangat has 4 buildings that can be hired together or independently, and we ask that guests only use their own hired building and immediate surrounds, and respect the others both physically and sound wise. ALL GUESTS have access to the beautiful 50 acres of forest, trails and river!

Bedroom has a Queen bed and a single bed.
Open plan living space has two lounge/daybeds, which we provide bedding to be converted into single beds for sleeping at night.
Rates
Minimum 2-night stays (3-nights for long weekends) though we will consider last minute 1-night bookings subject to a 50% surcharge.
