Relax and enjoy the serenity of the bush at Wangat
Wangat is that rarest of opportunities - a place peaceful and secluded where groups of families and friends can gather together to enjoy the company of nature and each other. Wangat offers in the one mud-brick complex ten family-size rooms and a large communal space for dining and relaxation. Plus there are outside areas to sit and chat, and all the surrounding bush should you like time on your own.
Groups may book Wangat Lodge as a whole for weekends throughout the year, or mid-week for self-run programs.
Availability of weekends.
Prices as from 1st Jan 2010 are $2290 for a standard weekend booking - i.e. $32.70 or less per person per night for a group of 35 or more which covers all the accommodation and guided activities. We get many repeat bookings from year to year and some groups have been visiting us annually for twenty years! Bookings may be made up to a year in advance.

"under offer" means someone has a tentative hold (i.e. no deposit yet paid) but you can be first reserve for that weekend if you wish.

A Holding Deposit of $100 is required to reserve a weekend. A further $500 deposit is due within one month of reservation. All deposits are refundable in full if cancellation is received not later than twelve weeks in advance of the arrival date. A group who pays the deposit for next year in full when they depart from their weekend will have next year's cost reduced by $50.

Wangat Lodge is situated on the Wangat Wildlife Refuge where possums, wallabies and bandicoots are semi-tame around the Lodge; there are superb pools for swimming in the river; and an extensive network of short and longer walking trails extends from Wangat into State Forest and Barrington Tops Wilderness.
At weekends Wangat's resident naturalists are on hand to guide walks and lead night-time activities (eg. slide programs, star-gazing, spotlighting, frogging expeditions....) at no extra charge. Great for kids!!
Maps and information sheets are available for self-guided activities, and guided bushwalks are led by Wangat's resident naturalists. Special nature-oriented activities are conducted for children. See 101 things to do at Wangat.

Individual-Room Bookings
Booking of individual rooms is usually possible only when special event programs are offered (eg. bushwalking, art workshops, Family Holiday Programs). Advertised rates apply.
